Assistant Teacher

Alyssa brings a dedicated background in early childhood development, health sciences, and child psychology coursework to MindGarden Learning. She works alongside our Saplings children. With years of hands-on experience as a homeschool educator, childcare provider, and volunteer education ambassador in local wildlife conservation, she integrates a rich blend of practical experience and thoughtful care into the classroom.

Practicing a secure attachment style in her teaching, Alyssa focuses on building safe, trusting relationships where children feel grounded, confident, and free to explore. As a lifelong learner herself, she embraces an eclectic philosophy that draws inspiration from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, Forest School, and unit studies, with a centerpiece focus on Charlotte Mason’s educational methods.

“What I love about early education is capturing a child’s natural curiosity and sense of wonder. My teaching is deeply rooted in secure attachment, creating a safe, peaceful space where every child feels truly seen, supported, and emotionally secure.

I take an eclectic approach to learning, pulling the best elements from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, Forest School, and immersive unit studies, while holding a deep love for Charlotte Mason’s philosophy. I love weaving touches of fairytale whimsy, nature study, and practical life skills into our daily rhythms to make learning both meaningful and magical.

I am passionate about a real world, hands-on approach. When children can truly immerse themselves, engage their hands, and express themselves through both open-ended process art and special keepsake art, it brings learning full circle. They gain a tangible sense of capability that connects directly to the world around them.

I was drawn to MindGarden Learning because it offers a true sanctuary of community for both children and families. I deeply believe that when we nurture children in an environment grounded in natural kindness, gentleness, and a genuine love for learning, we aren’t just teaching. We are changing the world from the roots up.

Above all, my goal is to foster a deep, lifelong love of reading and learning. When children feel comfortable and confident in their foundational skills, they gain the independence they need to truly soar.”

When she isn’t at MindGarden, Alyssa loves spending time outdoors, foraging, reading, and finding the whimsy in life.
