Gentle Learning
For Growing Hearts & Minds
A Charlotte Mason and attachment-based
enrichment program for ages 0–18
in Hixson, TN
What is MindGarden?
MindGarden Learning is a secular Charlotte Mason and attachment-based enrichment community in the greater Chattanooga area. You’ll find four programs that grow with your child: a parent-child co-op for the youngest, two-day drop-off enrichment for school-age kids, and a teen guild for older kids. Every program leads with real relationships, living ideas, and unhurried days.
Programs by age
Pick the season your child is in. Same school, just shaped to where they are.
🌱 Roots
Tuesday and Thursday mornings together with your littlest. Songs, stories, nature, and the slow, attached learning the early years are made for.
🌿 Seedlings
Two days of Charlotte Mason enrichment in a relationship-first room. Living books, nature study, art, music, handicrafts, and plenty of time to play.
🌳 Saplings
Older kids dig deeper into history, science, writing, and the arts. The rhythm and connection stay the same. Independence grows. So does belonging.
🌲 Branches
A screen-free guild where teens work alongside skilled adults. Real crafts, real responsibility, real community. Future cohort, get on the interest list now.
Why this approach
Two ideas shape every day at MindGarden
Charlotte Mason method
Living books over textbooks. Short lessons. Outside time. Narration instead of testing. The method respects your child as a born person, not a vessel to fill. We use it secularly, focused on the methodology rather than any religious framing.
Attachment-based teaching
Children learn best when they feel safe with the adults teaching them. Our teachers are trained in Gordon Neufeld’s developmental approach, which means relationship comes before rigor. Kids settle in fast, and parents notice the difference at home.
Meet your teachers
Real relationships with the adults in the room is what makes MindGarden work. Our teachers are trained in Charlotte Mason method and Gordon Neufeld’s developmental approach.

Miss Carrie
Carrie holds a degree in Elementary Education and has completed Intensive I and II at the Neufeld Institute. She brings together Charlotte Mason method and modern developmental science, with the lived experience of homeschooling her own three children.

Miss Jessica
Jessica brings a background in Early Childhood Education and Development plus Sociology. Her teaching is student-centered and relationship-first. She sees herself less as an authority figure and more as a team leader, learning alongside the kids.
