Miss Alana

Assistant Teacher

Alana brings a thoughtful, observant, and fun presence to MindGarden Learning, where she serves as an Assistant Teacher with our Seedlings children. With a background as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, she has five years of experience supporting individuals in reaching their goals with patience, compassion, and an eye for each person’s unique strengths and needs.

Alana’s professional interests include child development, educational neuroscience, and play-based and attachment-based approaches to understanding children. Alongside continuing education, she has continued her learning through the work of psychologist Ashleigh Warner, founder of Holistic Family Psychologist, whose developmental and relationship-centered approach is deeply influenced by Dr. Gordon Neufeld’s philosophy. This perspective complements MindGarden’s commitment to seeing children as whole persons and nurturing growth through connection.

Those who know Alana quickly notice her gentle spirit and quiet attentiveness. Though soft-spoken, she is deeply intentional with her words, listens with great care, and has a remarkable ability to notice the children who might otherwise go unseen. She brings a calm, reassuring presence to the classroom, helping children feel safe, known, and welcomed. Offering fun play-based activities during the day, she hopes to give children space for creative expression and focused movement, helping them feel more regulated, focused, and confident.

Outside of MindGarden, Alana enjoys her family, reading, night photography, board games, nature, dancing, and continuing to deepen her understanding of child development. We are so grateful for the warmth, wisdom, and steady presence she brings to our community.
