Homeschool Enrichment for Chattanooga Families
Secular Charlotte Mason and attachment-based, just over the river
Chattanooga has a vibrant homeschool community and not enough secular options for it. MindGarden Learning fills that gap. We’re a 15- to 25-minute drive from most Chattanooga neighborhoods, just up Highway 153 in Hixson, and we serve homeschool families across Hamilton County.
Why Chattanooga families drive to Hixson
Most homeschool drop-off and co-op programs in greater Chattanooga are explicitly Christian. They’re great programs and a good fit for many families. They’re not the right fit for every family.
If you’re a Chattanooga homeschool family looking for:
- A secular program that doesn’t teach religion as fact
- Charlotte Mason method without scripture as the spine
- Attachment-informed teachers who don’t use behavior charts or shame-based discipline
- Two days per week that fits alongside your at-home homeschool rhythm
The drive to Hixson is worth it. Most of our Chattanooga families come from North Chattanooga, North Shore, Stuart Heights, and Mountain Creek. Twenty minutes up Hwy 153 and you’re at the door. More about our educational philosophy.

Getting to MindGarden from Chattanooga
From downtown Chattanooga, take Hwy 153 north across the river. Exit at Hixson Pike and head north about a mile. We’re at 6503 Hixson Pike, Suite 105-C, sharing space with Jungle Fun Center. The whole drive is about 20 minutes from downtown, longer if you’re hitting the morning traffic on 153.
Drive time from common Chattanooga neighborhoods:
- North Shore: 15 minutes
- Mountain Creek: 10 minutes
- Lookout Valley: 25–30 minutes
- Brainerd: 25 minutes
- East Brainerd: 30 minutes
Tennessee homeschool families in Hamilton County register with the school district or with a church-related school umbrella. MindGarden doesn’t handle the registration side. We’re an enrichment partner, not a school.
