Homeschool Enrichment for Ringgold, GA Families
A secular Charlotte Mason and attachment-based enrichment program worth the drive across the state line
Ringgold sits 25 to 35 minutes from MindGarden depending on where you’re starting from. We have families who make that drive twice a week from Catoosa County because there isn’t a secular Charlotte Mason program closer to home. If you’re a Ringgold homeschool family looking for what we do, the trip is worth it, and you won’t be the only family from your area.
Why Ringgold homeschool families come to MindGarden
North Georgia has a lot of homeschool options and most of them are faith-based. That fits a lot of Ringgold and Catoosa County families well. For families who want Charlotte Mason rigor without religious framing, there’s no equivalent option in Catoosa or Walker County. The closest secular drop-off enrichment programs are an hour or more in either direction.
MindGarden is 25 to 35 minutes from most of Ringgold. That makes it the only drivable option for North Georgia families who want:
- A secular curriculum with no religious instruction
- Charlotte Mason method (literature, narration, nature study, art, music, handicrafts)
- Attachment-informed teachers who don’t use behavior charts or reward systems
- Two days per week that fits alongside the home learning days

Georgia homeschool law and MindGarden
One thing that’s different for Georgia families: you’ll handle homeschool registration through Georgia’s Declaration of Intent (DOI) process, not Tennessee’s. You file the DOI with the Georgia Department of Education, keep your own attendance and progress records, and meet the state’s required-subject hours.
MindGarden doesn’t handle Georgia’s registration paperwork. We’re an enrichment partner, not a school, and we’re not registered as a Georgia provider. You stay the homeschooling parent under Georgia law. The two days per week your child spends with us count toward whatever subjects you’re tracking (history, art, music, science via nature study, literature, foreign language) but the official record-keeping is yours.
Many Ringgold families find that working with MindGarden two days a week pairs well with home instruction in math and language arts. We focus on the subjects that are hardest to do alone: discussion-based literature, group nature study, art instruction, music, narration, and handicrafts.
The drive from Ringgold
From Ringgold, take I-75 north into Tennessee, exit at Hwy 153 north, then exit at Hixson Pike. We’re at 6503 Hixson Pike, Suite 105-C. The drive is mostly highway and runs about 25 to 35 minutes depending on where in Ringgold you’re starting and the time of day.
Two-day-a-week drop-off works for families across the area because the drive is consolidated. You’re making four total trips per week (two drop-offs, two pick-ups) for two full school days. That’s the same total drive time as a single full school week of a traditional school commute, with the rest of your week free for at-home work.
